David Miller scored the fastest hundred in international T20 cricket off just 35 deliveries - including five maximums in a row in the 19th over - to finish 101 not against Bangladesh.
Miller's innings beat the previous quickest ton, scored by countryman, Richard Levi, who held the record following his knock off 45 balls against New Zealand in Hamilton five years ago.
Left-hander Miller came to the crease at the fall of the third wicket with the score at 73-3, and made the visitors pay after Mushfiqur Rahim dropped him on nought off Rubel Hossain's bowling.
The South African threatened to take Bangladesh's attack apart thereafter, and latched upon some wayward bowling from Mohammad Saifuddin in the penultimate over by striking the first five balls over the fence for six, before hitting the last ball for a single.
However, back-to-back boundaries in the next over saw Miller reach his century - and help his team to a massive 224-4, Hashim Amla having hammered 85 from 51 balls up top.
"It's a really special feeling," Miller told SuperSport. "I tried to watch the ball and back myself. I was scratchy in the beginning, to be honest, but towards the back end it turned out to be sweet."
South Africa went on to dismiss Bangladesh for 141 to win by 83 runs and take the series 2-0, having also whitewashed the Tigers in the Test and ODI series.
