Bangladesh have recalled left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman for their upcoming two-Test series in Sri Lanka following an injury lay-off.

The 21-year-old has not played a Test since his debut series against South Africa in 2015, since when he has suffered a series of injuries.

He underwent shoulder surgery last year and, despite making a brief return to the limited-overs side against New Zealand at the turn of the year, he was not deemed fit enough to withstand the rigours of a five-day Test match.

But he returns as part of a 16-man squad for matches next month, starting in Galle from March 7-11 and finishing in Colombo from March 15-19.

They are also scheduled to play three ODIs and two T20s, before the tour ends on April 6.

The selectors have also recalled Rubel Hossain, which means there are five fast bowlers in the squad.

Chief selector Minhajul Abedin said: "We think we would require an extra pacer in testing conditions in Sri Lanka."
