Domestic cricket live on Sky

Sky Sports has announced its live televised fixtures for the 2007 domestic cricket season.

SKY SPORTS today (Tuesday November 28 2006) announced its live televised fixtures for the 2007 domestic cricket season.

Every county will feature at least twice, including one home match, from the initial 45 fixtures selected by Sky, together with the ECB, for coverage next summer.

Sky Sports will again be showing extensive coverage from each of domestic cricket's major county competitions; The ECB One-Day Trophy, Twenty20 Cup, NatWest Pro40 and Liverpool Victoria County Championship, with the action beginning on 29th April.

The coverage comprises:

* ECB One-Day Trophy: Ten matches, including the final and two day-night games
* Twenty20: 16 matches including two quarter finals, two semi finals and final
* NatWest Pro40: 31 matches, 22 of them floodlit, including the playoff
* Liverpool Victoria County Championship: Two matches, including The Roses battle on July 8

Barney Francis, Sky Sports' executive producer for cricket said: ‚Ç£Next year promises to be another summer of mouth-watering domestic cricket, and I'm sure there's plenty of fixtures here that cricket fans will be looking forward to over the forthcoming months."

The action begins with Somerset's clash against Sussex in The ECB One-Day Trophy on 29th April, with eight other ties in May and June before August's final.  In June and July Sky Sports will show 13 matches from the Twenty20 Cup, beginning with champions Leicestershire's opening clash with Yorkshire on 22nd June, before the finals day on 4th August.

Sky's NatWest Pro40 schedule begins with Worcestershire facing Hampshire at New Road on 13th July, followed by 30 matches throughout July, August and September.  Two Liverpool Victoria County Championship games are in the schedule too, including The Roses match on 8th July.

The domestic fixtures are a key element to another busy summer of live cricket on Sky Sports which includes all England home Test matches, One-Day Internationals and Twenty20 matches.

Matches are screened in High Definition, providing viewers with four-times the picture quality of standard television transmission and Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound for those with compatible equipment.

Sky Sports is currently broadcasting live coverage of its fifth Ashes series and will show each game from the ICC World Cup exclusively live from the Caribbean.
