Harbhajan and Pathan recalled

Wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni will captain India in their seven-match one-day international series against World Cup champions Australia starting on September 29. The 26-year-old Dhoni, captain at the current World Twenty20 in South Africa, will also lead the team in the five-match series against Pakistan that follows. Dhoni holds the record for the highest one-day score by a wicketkeeper with 183 not out. He was Rahul Dravid's deputy in last summer's one-day series in England, which the hosts won 4-3. Dravid abruptly quit the captaincy last week. The selectors also named the 15-man squad for the first three games of the series against Australia. Chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar said the selectors would watch Dhoni's captaincy in the 12 one-dayers before deciding whether to retain him for the three-Test series against Pakistan which follows. Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and pace bowler Irfan Pathan have been recalled after they were dropped following the shock World Cup first round exit in March. India squad: Mahendra Dhoni (captain), Yuvraj Singh (vice-captain), Saurav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Dinesh Karthik, Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa, Irfan Pathan, Romesh Pawar, Piyush Chawla, Rudra Pratap Singh, Zaheer Khan, Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, Harbhajan Singh.
