Natalie Sciver has been forced to pull out of the England squad for next month’s one-day series with South Africa.

Kent batter Tammy Beaumont will replace the injured Surrey all-rounder when the squad leaves for South Africa on Monday.

Beaumont, who last featured in a one-day series against India in August 2014, was originally only selected for the Twenty20 series, but will now be involved for the duration of the tour.

Sciver has suffered an ankle injury and will remain at home to undergo a rehabilitation programme.

"Gutted not to be meeting up with the team for the ODIs v SA, hopefully see them for the T20i series," tweeted the 23-year-old, who has been playing in the WBBL for the Melbourne Stars.

A decision will be made at a later date as to whether she is available to re-join the squad for the three-match Twenty20 series, which gets underway in Paarl on 18 February.
