Judge Edward Slinger to act as chairman for three-man disciplinary committee

The England and Wales Cricket Board disciplinary hearing into allegations that Yorkshire fielded an ineligible player in the Twenty20 Cup will be held at Old Trafford on Thursday. Judge Edward Slinger is to chair the panel, with James Pickup QC and Simon Schanschieff also sitting. The ECB ordered the quarter-final fixture at the Riverside on Monday to be called off just minutes before the scheduled start, due to the apparent ineligibilty of Yorkshire spinner Azeem Rafiq, who played in the group match against Nottinghamshire on June 27. It is anticipated Thursday's hearing will conclude with a decision over whether Yorkshire must replay their match against Nottinghamshire - which saw them qualify for the last eight at their opponents' expense - be ejected from the competition, or some other course of action followed. The ECB plan to issue a statement at the conclusion of the hearing.
