Mixture of youth and experience in 17-man selection
Stanford Superstars have named a 17-man squad for the lucrative one-off Twenty20 contest against England on November 1.
Sir Viv Richards picked a combination of established names and relative unknowns in his capacity as chairman of the Stanford selectors.
Current West Indies internationals Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Daren Powell and Jerome Taylor are among those selected to prepare for the match in Antigua.
"We believe this squad is very capable of doing justice to their selection to the Stanford Superstars squad to face England for the unprecedented purse," Richards said.
"There are several familiar faces in this Stanford Superstars squad but there are some exciting new additions such as Lindon James, Lionel Baker and Chad Hampson."
The match, which boasts a £10million winner-takes-all prize, is the brainchild of Texan billionaire Sir Allen Stanford.
