Giles Clarke has been nominated to be England and Wales Cricket Board chairman for a second term. All 18 counties and the MCC have backed Giles to continue in the roll after his sole rival - Jonathan Marland - withdrew his challenge last month. The Electoral Reform Services will now distribute the election papers to the full membership of the ECB, with that process to be concluded at 12 noon on February 23. The next term of office for the ECB chairman is until March 31, 2011. "I would like to thank Lord Marland, who is after all a very experienced election campaigner, and also all the counties that voted for me," Clarke said. "I believe that the overriding message from this election is that there is no division of purpose within first class cricket in England and Wales. "Indeed this election has demonstrated quite categorically that, if anything, cricket is more agreed on a common direction that at any time in the last few years." Clarke had come under fire in recent months following his handling of the Stanford Super Series and the sacking of England coach Peter Moores and captain Kevin Pietersen.
