Yorkshire gloveman has surgery on cerebral abscess

Yorkshire reserve wicketkeeper Simon Guy has undergone surgery on a cerebral abscess and is recuperating in hospital. The 30-year-old had the operation in February and the county initially kept news of the illness private, at the request of Guy and his family. "I am pleased to say that Simon is recovering well, said Yorkshire's director of professional cricket Martyn Moxon. "However, it will be a number of weeks before he is fit enough to play cricket again. "Everyone at the club wishes him and his family well as he continues his recovery, and we look forward to seeing him back here with us very soon."
