Batsman set for South Africa after vice-captain returns home

Injured Australia vice-captain Michael Clarke will be replaced at the Champions Trophy in South Africa by batsman David Hussey, team officials have announced. Clarke returned home to Australia after a back injury ruled out from him continuing in the tournament, with 32-year-old Hussey due to fly out to replace him in time for Friday's semi-final against England. Hussey, younger brother of Australian team regular Michael, has played 23 one-day internationals for the team, scoring 598 runs at an average of 28.47. Clarke, meanwhile, has vowed he will do "whatever I have to" to recuperate from his back injury before Australia's one-day series in India starting later this month. "It's good to be home now," said Clarke. "It gives me a chance to get my back right and get the treatment I need to get and I'll worry about the future after that. "I'm very confident, I'll get a lot of treatment back home and I'm hoping I'll be right for India."
