West Indies all-rounder signs up for T20 stint in Taunton

Somerset have signed Trinidad all-rounder Kieron Pollard for next season's Twenty20 competitions. Pollard, who was recently snapped up by Mumbai Indians at the IPL auction, is expected to be available for almost all of the Sabres' 20-over cricket in 2010. The 22-year-old's big-hitting exploits for the ill-fated Stanford Superstars and Trinidad and Tobago have made him hot property in the T20 arena. With Australian all-rounder Cameron White already recruited by Somerset specifically for T20 and Indian spinner Murali Kartik also spending next summer in Taunton, the club have filled three of their four overseas spots. Only two can play in any one match. "With Kieron in the side along with the likes of Cameron, Marcus Trescothick, Craig Kieswetter and Peter Trego, we had better order a bigger supply of cricket balls," Somerset director of cricket Brian Rose told the county's official website. Chief executive Richard Gould added: "With the strength of our batting attack, people may have to start wearing hard hats in Taunton town centre."
