A cricket fan in New Zealand earns himself £50,000 after holding on to a one-handed catch in the crowd!
A lucky cricket fan earn himself a fortune with a one-handed catch!
One cricket fan will certainly look back on Wednesday's one-day international between New Zealand and India in Hamilton with real fondness... although that's unlikely to have much to do with the Black Caps' 15-run victory.
No, this lucky spectator left the ground NZ$100,000 (£50,000) richer after clinging on to a one-handed catch in the crowd.
The competition is being run by a local beer brand who offer spectators (who have bought one of their orange t-shirts) the chance to land the jackpot should they cling on to a maximum from a batsman in the middle.
The fan - named as Jatindar Singh - duly obliged following a six from Corey Anderson, showing superb co-ordination to take a brilliant catch despite being impeded by those in front of him.
As well as a sackload of cash, he has now presumably earned himself a whole host of new friends!
