Gary Anderson produced a remarkable display of darts to defeat James Wade 6-2 in the Players Championship 20 final.
In a repeat of the final of the opening Players Championship event of 2015 in Barnsley in March, it was Anderson who again claimed victory to book-end the 20 events this year with his second £10,000 title.
The Scot posted an impressive 101 average as he put a stop to world No 7 Wade over eight legs in the decider, which followed up a 105 average he set in the semi-finals as he made light work of seventh seed Dave Chisnall, defeating him by the same score-line.
It wasn't all plain sailing for Anderson though, as he was made to sweat in the opening two rounds, narrowly edging past both Joey Ten Berge and Nigel Heydon 6-5.
He moved through the gears with a 6-3 win over Alan Norris before defeating two-time world champion Adrian Lewis by the same score in the last 16 - avenging Saturday's defeat to the Stoke ace - before duly dispatching former Lakeside Champion Stephen Bunting 6-2 in the quarter-final.
