Six draws in seven games for Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury were held to their sixth draw in their last seven games as Grimsby earned a 1-1 draw. The visitors had two decent penalty shouts turned down in the first half before Barry Conlon scored in the 55th minute after Graham Coughlan headed a shot from James Hunt off the line. Paul Simpson's Shrewsbury responded when Steve Leslie crossed the ball for Ben Davies, who scored his 13th of the season from a tight angle after 59 minutes. In an incident-packed game, Chris Humphrey wasted three good chances and substitute Moses Ashikodi fluffed an open goal for the home side while Coughlan and Neil Ashton both combined to prevent a shot from Nick Hegarty crossing the line near the end. Right at the finish Grimsby missed a chance for an unlikely victory when Chris Llewellyn missed a diving header from two yards out.
