Australian disqualified from Loch Lomond after scoring error

Brett Rumford has been disqualified from the Barclays Scottish Open after signing for the wrong score The Australian golfer saw his Loch Lomond challenge end before he even teed off for the third round on Saturday after realising his error. Rumford took a bogey four on the short 17th in his second round, but a three was put on his card by playing partner Sam Little, who was marking it. The 32-year-old from Perth made the cut with one shot to spare on one over par, 11 behind leader Darren Clarke, but his error put him out of the £3million tournament. As well as giving him a weekend off it also ended his hopes of qualifying for next week's Open at St Andrews. There is one place up for grabs at Loch Lomond, but it goes only to the leading non-exempt player in the top five. Clarke, also looking for the spot, led by three from Italian Edoardo Molinari and by four from Welshman Bradley Dredge and Swede Peter Hedblom. Molinari and Dredge are in the Open, but Hedblom is not.
