Paul Lawrie endured more frustration on the Royal Lytham greens as he struggled to a closing 72 in the final round of the Open Championship.
The 1999 winner had crashed out of contention with a third-round 76, which included a four-putt at the last, prompting him to describe his putting performance as the worst of his career.
The Scot again played well from tee to green on the final day, but he converted only one chance for birdie as he slipped to four over for the tournament.
"I played nicely and just putted like an idiot again," he said. "On Thursday I putted beautifully, so it's just a bit weird.
"I just holed nothing out there, it is so disappointing. I think frustrated would be an understatement. I think I've hit the ball this week, not as good as I can, but extremely well.
"Had I been top-10 this week, I think it would have been fair enough," added Lawrie, who is looking forward to a rest before heading to Ohio for next month's WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
"I'm ready for just a bit of a break," he said. "Even with the week off for the French Open (earlier this month) I was quite busy that week, whereas next week there will be no golf at all involved.
"I won't hit one ball, which will be nice. The next ball I hit will be in Akron."
