Brandt Snedeker is hoping he can build on his Open efforts at Royal Lytham in this week's Canadian Open.
American straight back into action at Canadian Open
Brandt Snedeker is hoping his fine performance at the Open Championship can inspire him to his fourth PGA Tour success.
The 31-year-old American will tee off in the Canadian Open on Thursday after finishing tied for third place with Tiger Woods at Royal Lytham, where he started with rounds of 66 and 64.
"Obviously after last week my game is pretty close to being where it needs to be to win a golf tournament. So I have pretty high expectations this week," said Snedeker.
"We don't get to play too many traditional golf courses like this. It's going to be really tough, going to challenge every club in the bag."
Snedeker finished four shots behind winner Ernie Els at the Open as the South African picked up his fourth major and first since 2007.
Els praise
Snedeker was full of praise for the 42-year-old, who is also in action at the Canadian Open, and tipped him for more major success in the future.
"He's one of the best ball strikers ever. He's a phenomenal talent. And we
knew if he ever putted well again..." said Snedeker.
"Wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to see him win a couple more, wouldn't be surprised to see him win a Masters again now. So it's good to have him back."
Also in the field this week are the likes of three-time major winner Vijay Singh, Jim Furyk, Matt Kuchar, Hunter Mahan and defending champion Sean O'Hair.
