Watch Alan Hansen take on the 4-iron challenge in the Open Zone

Liverpool legend Alan Hansen put his golfing ability to the test by taking on the 4-iron challenge during his visit to the Open Zone at Royal Birkdale.

Hansen is an avid golfer who is regularly seen playing in Pro-Am events and the annual Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, but would he have the touch required to complete the difficult test?

Since Jon Rahm wowed the crowds by pulling out a skill he learnt from the late Seve Ballesteros to hit a flop shot over a big bunker lip, a number of players and sports stars have attempted to replicate the trick.

With Nick Dougherty alongside the sand pit trying to offer the Scot some advice on how to use the iron to get out of trip, Hansen crouched down to try and get his ball close to the flag.
