Spanish golfer had third brain operation on Friday

Seve Ballesteros remains in a "stable condition" following a third operation on his brain tumour, doctors at Madrid's La Paz hospital said on Saturday. The latest surgery lasted over six hours on Friday and was declared a success, with doctors stressing there had been no complications in the procedure to alleviate pressure on the brain caused by an edema and to remove remaining tumour tissues. "We only want to say that Severiano Ballesteros continues to be in a stable condition within the seriousness of his condition and remains in the Intensive Care Unit," read a hospital statement on Saturday. Spaniard Ballesteros, the 51-year-old five-time Major winner, was diagnosed with a brain tumour after collapsing at Madrid's Barajas airport on October 6.
