Ryder Cup 2014: Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia resume partnership in foursomes

Captains Paul McGinley and Tom Watson have kept the faith in two of their key pairings for the afternoon foursomes on day one of the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles.
After claiming Europe's first point of the competition, comprehensively beating USA pairing of Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson 5&4, Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson retain their partnership while world No 1 Rory McIlroy will again partner Sergio Garcia in the afternoon session.
Ian Poulter, widely known as 'Mr Ryder Cup', and European rookie Stephen Gallacher have paid the price for a heavy 5&4 defeat to Amercia duo Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed, both making their debuts in the 40th edition of the transatlantic bout.
Watson has also retained two of his pairings for the foursomes, with Jimmy Walker and Rickie Fowler set to lock horns with McIlroy and Garcia, while Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley team up once more.
Veteran American pair Mickelson and Bradley showdown with the fresh European partnership of Victor Dubuisson and Graeme McDowell.
The opening match of the afternoon session, teeing off at 1:15pm, pits Jamie Donaldson and Lee Westwood against Matt Kuchar and Jim Furyk, all making their bow before the raucous Gleneagles crowd.
Hunter Mahan and Zach Johnson form the second new pairing for Watson; they face the formidable Rose/Stenson partnership in the second match.
After sharing the spoils with Thomas Bjorn and Martin Kaymer, Walker and Fowler take on McIlroy and Garcia, with the final match featuring Dubussion and McDowell against Mickelson and Bradley teeing off at 2pm.
