Laura Trott second in omnium at half way at World Championships

Laura Trott has made a strong start to her bid for omnium gold
Laura Trott lies second overall at the halfway stage of the omnium at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, level on points with overnight leader Sarah Hammer.
Trott finished third in the scratch race, second in the individual pursuit and second in the elimination race to leave her on 112 points going into Sunday's second day of the six-race event.
However, she trails Hammer due to the fact that the American won both the pursuit and elimination race.
The remaining three events all take place on Sunday, starting with the 500m time trial and flying lap in the morning and then the decisive points race in the afternoon.
