Scott Brash has warmed up for Sunday's shot at showjumping history by winning the Suncor Energy Cup at Spruce Meadows.

Brash rode Hello Forever to an unbeatable time of 40.73 seconds in the second round to take home the prize.

Hello Forever is the stablemate of Hello Sanctos, the brilliant 13-year-old bay gelding that Brash will ride tonight as he attempts to win the Rolex Grand Slam of Showjumping.

Brash is bidding to become the first rider to win the world's three biggest Grand Prix in succession, a feat which would earn him a £720,000 bonus.

The 29-year-old Scotsman - who has already won Olympic and European team gold and is ranked as showjumping's world No 1 - has paid tribute to Hello Sanctos.

"Sanctos is just a fantastically intelligent horse" said Brash. "He loves the sport, he loves jumping, he loves winning. He's just an incredible horse. I think he has got to be the best of all-time now.

"He has probably won the most prize money, his consistency is phenomenal and his strike-rate for the amount of times he jumps to the amount of times he wins has got to be the best a horse has ever had. He is just a great horse to work with."
