Sebastien Loeb has announced he will compete in the Dakar rally for the first time next year.
The nine-time rally world champion, who ended his full-time WRC career in 2012 to concentrate on his World Touring Car Championship career, will drive for Peugeot at the race held in Argentina and Bolivia from January 3-16, 2016.
Loeb, who also holds the record for the famous Pikes Peak hill climb, said: "Dakar is something that appeals to me, it is a huge adventure. It's a great challenge to go and compete there and drive in the desert."
The 41-year-old Loeb will prepare for the Dakar at the Morocco Rally from October 3-9 alongside Carlos Sainz, his former teammate in the world rally championship.
