Hardy edged out at Cyber Sunday

Triple H once again showed the world why he is regarded as one of the greatest ever WWE champions as he defended the gold against Jeff Hardy at Cyber Sunday. The voting public once again had their say - 57 per cent giving Jeff Hardy a crack at the gold instead of Vladimir Kozlov. Despite the vote, Hardy came up short in his quest to become WWE Champion, falling to Triple H once again. With the crowd firmly split between the two Superstars, each tried to gain momentum as the match progressed, with neither able to deliver the knock-out maneuver. However, with the match well and truly in the balance, Jeff Hardy landed a devastating Swantom Bomb as the title looked certain to change hands. Instead of sealing the pinfall, Hardy ascended back on top of the ropes as he attempted to give The Game a repeat dose to assure himself a victory. Triple H, however, reversed the second Swanton as he lifted his knees to block the impact and that was to prove crucial. As the fight moved outside, Hardy again climbed the turnbuckle. This time it did lead to a pin, however it was The Game, using all his craft and experience as he pulled the Legend Thriller down before delivering a Pedigree. The three-count followed as The Game once again earned a hard-fought victory against the high-flying Hardy, showing that he is at his best when the title is at stake.
