Max Biaggi closed the gap to Superbike World Championship leader Carlos Checa by winning the second race at Aragon.
Biaggi lost out in a battle with Marco Melandri in race one but still managed to gain ground on Checa when the Spaniard crashed out in front of his home fans.
Checa had a better time in the second race as he finished third but could not stop Biaggi again trimming his championship lead, which now stands at 43 points.
In race one of the seventh round of the season, Yamaha's Melandri grabbed his second victory of the year after capitalising on a Biaggi error to take the lead late in the race.
Melandri started from pole position but fell behind defending champion Biaggi before re-passing him and holding on to take the chequered flag 1.5 seconds in front.
Podium
British rider Leon Camier claimed the final podium position ahead of Melandri's team-mate Eugene Laverty, who edged out the Kawasaki of Tom Sykes for fourth.
Noriyuki Haga grabbed sixth place with Joan Lascorz close behind, while Ayrton Badovini, Leon Haslam and Troy Corser rounded out the top 10.
Checa was running in the top three when he fell on the eighth lap, coming off his bike just after setting the fastest lap.
In the second race, Biaggi managed to fend off the attentions of Melandri with Checa deciding to settle for a safe third place that limited the damage to his points lead.
Michel Fabrizio came in fourth on his Alstare Suzuki, with Lascorz fifth and Laverty sixth. The top 10 was completed by Haga, Camier, Haslam and Badovini.
