STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN has earned a record three Royal Rumble victories, with the Texas Rattlesnake triumphing in 1997, 1998 and 2001.

STEVE AUSTIN is also one of only three men, alongside HULK HOGAN and SHAWN MICHAELS, to win back-to-back Rumbles, although John Cena, Batista and Triple H have also won the event twice.

TRIPLE H won from the coveted No 30 spot in 2016 - but The Undertaker (2007) and John Cena (2008) are the only other men to have been victorious from the position.

The first Royal Rumble, was won by "HACKSAW" JIM DUGGAN, who lastly eliminated One Man Gang to triumph in 1988.

TRIPLE H has amassed the longest combined time in the Royal Rumble match, racking up 3hrs, 59mins and 37 seconds over the course of his nine appearances - Chris Jericho is next on the list, with a combined time of 3hrs, 55mins and 59 seconds in his nine Rumbles.

REY MYSTERIO has spent the longest time in the ring during a single Royal Rumble, surviving a whopping 1hr, 2mins, and 12secs to win the 2006 event.

SANTINO MARELLA has spent the shortest time in a single Rumble, lasting just 1.9 seconds before being sent packing by Kane in 2009.

ROMAN REIGNS has eliminated the most wrestlers in one Rumble, downing 12 competitors in the 2014 event to beat Kane's record of 11 from 2001.

But KANE has removed the most wrestlers in total, propelling 44 victims over the top rope during his 19 Rumble appearances, with Shawn Michaels (39), Stone Cold (36) and The Undertaker (35) the next best.

KANE'S tally of 19 Rumbles is a record - Shawn Michaels (12), Goldust and Big Show (11) and The Undertaker and Rikishi (10) follow him on that list.

The 2002 ROYAL RUMBLE - won by Triple H - was the longest in history (1hr, 9mins, 23secs), while the 1988 ROYAL RUMBLE, which had just 20 entrants, was the shortest (33mins).

The NUMBER 27 has produced the most Rumble winners (4) - Big John Studd, Yokozuna, Bret Hart and Steve Austin triumphing from that position.
