Luka Doncic drained a clutch pull-up three-pointer to seal a rare Dallas Mavericks road win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Doncic scored a team-high 29 points, pulled down eight rebounds and dished out 12 assists, but it was his clutch shooting in the final minute of the game that earned the Dallas Mavericks to a 119-115 victory.
The outcome could have been very different as Doncic's inbounds pass with 33 seconds remaining was stolen by the Timberwolves' Josh Okogie, but the young guard did not secure possession and threw an ill-advised pass in the direction of team-mate Taj Gibson that was intercepted by Mavs' center DeAndre Jordan.
Jordan gave the ball back to Doncic who dribbled back into the T-Wolves half with 25 seconds left on the game clock.
With the Minnesota defense sagging back inside the three-point line, Doncic pulled up and released a triple from way downtown. It swished through the Timberwolves net with 22.9 seconds when to give Dallas a 117-115 lead.
With one possession left to tie or take the lead, Wolves forward Dario Saric, 0-for-5 from the floor, passed up an open three-pointer. He threw that ball to Derrick Rose, who drove, but his pass was tipped. A scramble ensued and Towns was whistled for a foul, sending Harrison Barnes to the free throw to put the game away.
