De'Aaron Fox showed why he is considered the fastest player in the NBA as he raced the length of the court to beat the buzzer with a lay-up at the rim.
Fox turned on his in-built turbo boost to grab the Kings a basket at the end of the first half.
Collecting possession close to his own basket with just 3.9 seconds left on the clock, Fox raced into the Pelicans half, executing a spin move to evade a Pelicans defender at the three-point line.
With 0.8 seconds left, he rose to the rim, absorbing contact from Pelicans' big man Christian Wood. Despite being fouled, Fox hung in the air and lofted a left-handed lay-up that dropped through the net as the buzzer sounded to reduce the Kings' half-time deficit to 64-62.
Overall, Fox enjoyed a superb game against the Pelicans, racking up 25 points, 12 assists and three steals. But he could not prevent his team from falling to a 121-118 loss that nudged their season record back below the .500 mark (37-38).
