Cowboys receiver Allen Hurns suffers 'serious injury' during their victory against Seattle Seahawks

Ezekiel Elliott wants to sign a contract extension with Dallas Cowboys during the offseason, according to NFL Network reports.
The 23-year-old, who helped the Cowboys overcome Seattle Seahawks for a 24-22 Wild Card win on Saturday, is eligible for an extension at this stage of his rookie contract.
Elliott has won rushing titles in two of his first three seasons and is seeking a similar extension signed this year by Los Angeles Rams back Todd Gurley, who renegotiated his contract after his third season, Rapoport reported.
Dallas could opt to hold off for now, given Elliott has one more year remaining on his rookie deal, and the club will most assuredly pick up its fifth-year option on him.
Quarterback Dak Prescott, newly acquired wide receiver Amari Cooper and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence are also understood to be targeting contract extensions this offseason.
Elliott rushed for a league-leading 1,434 yards this season and amassed more than 2,000 total yards overall, leading the Cowboys to the NFC East title.
Meanwhile, Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns was stretchered off the field after suffering a gruesome left leg injury in the first quarter of their playoff game against Seattle.
Hurns caught a 14-yard pass and was tackled by Seahawks safety Bradley McDougald, who fell on the Dallas receiver, whose leg bent awkwardly, as he lay face down on the field.
Medical personnel put an air cast on his leg and a cart was called out to remove him after several minutes of treatment, and Dallas coach Jason Garrett confirmed the severity of the injury.
"Obviously not a good situation for Allen. It's a serious injury that he has," Garrett said.
"Allen's in good hands. He's going to come back. He's going to play a lot of football for us in the future."
Although the coach offered no further details of Hurns' injury, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters it was his understanding Hurns was undergoing surgery for a dislocated ankle and "fractures".
