Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has called for his team to get back to winning ways as his side face the San Francisco 49ers on TNF

Quarterback Russell Wilson has called on the Seattle Seahawks to make major improvements if they are to reach their third consecutive Super Bowl.

The Seahawks (2-4) are currently third in the NFC West and take on San Francisco 49ers (2-4) in a crunch Thursday night clash at Levi's Stadium - live on Sky Sports 1 HD from 11pm.

Wilson wants his team to get back to winning ways as quickly as they can, saying: "We're not playing great football yet in our opinion and we can do a lot better and we believe we can do that by the way we prepare and by the way we practice.

"We're right there - you're on the edge and you know you're almost there - so we have just got to keep pushing and keep believing."

Cornerback Richard Sherman admits it has been tough so far this year, but he is confident the Seahawks can correct their mistakes which will enable them to get their campaign back on track.

"We appreciate how tough it is this year," he said. "We're in a lot of these games and it would be a different story if we could blow it out by 40 points every week and there's no way to fix it but one mistake - one player here or there - the guys need to clean up and correct and we're right on it."
