The Houston Texans have announced the signing of productive linebacker Benardrick McKinney to a five-year contract extension.
McKinney, who was entering the final year of his four-year rookie contract, will make $50m over five years with $21m guaranteed, according to multiple reports.
McKinney, 25, has led the Texans in tackles in each of the last two seasons, totalling 95 last year after racking up 129 in 2016.
A second-round pick in 2015, McKinney has played in 46 of 48 possible games over his first three seasons, starting 43.
Houston general manager Brian Gaine said: "McKinney plays a key role in our defense and has been highly productive but, more importantly, he is a core player who has developed into a team leader within our program.
"We are excited to have him a part of our long-term future here at the Texans."
The team also announced the signing of third-round offensive lineman Martinas Rankin on Thursday, meaning all eight of Houston's 2018 draft picks are now under contract.
