New Orleans Saints tight end Benjamin Watson could miss NFC title game

New Orleans Saints tight end Benjamin Watson is expected to be inactive when they take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday in the NFC Championship game.
Watson, who is expected to retire at the end of this season, reportedly missed Wednesday and Thursday's practices because of appendicitis, according to ESPN.
On Friday, the Saints listed Watson as questionable on their injury report and he was a limited participant during that practice.

Earlier in the week, New Orleans ruled out Keith Kirkwood with a calf injury after he missed all three practices during the week.
If Watson doesn't play, it leaves quarterback Drew Brees without one of his main offensive weapons as Watson currently has 34 catches for 400 yards with two touchdowns for the season.
In his career, the 38-year-old has played in 195 games for the New England Patriots [2004-09], Cleveland Browns ([2010-12], New Orleans [2013-15, 2018] and Baltimore Ravens [2017].
Watson has played in 12 playoff games and won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in his rookie season.
The Rams didn't list any players on Friday's injury report.
