Czech pair team up for London 2012 mixed doubles

Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova will join up with compatriot Radek Stepanek to contest the mixed doubles at the London Olympics. Kvitova, also considered fellow Czech Tomas Berdych as a partner but announced on Friday that she had opted for Stepanek. The 33-year-old won his maiden Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in January when he partnered India's Leander Paes to the doubles title. "As an experienced doubles player, Radek will be the leader," said Kvitova on announcing her decision. Kvitova and Berdych played together in January to give the Czech Republic its second Hopman Cup title. Berdych has already announced he will play the in the men's doubles with Stepanek at the London Games.
