Hannah Whelan claimed two bronze medals at the Women's Artistic Gymnastics European Championships on Sunday.
European bronze medals on beam and floor for British gymnast
Britain's Hannah Whelan claimed bronze medals in both the beam and floor at the Women's Artistic Gymnastics European Championships in Brussels on Sunday.
Whelan scored 14.333 to finish third in the beam behind Romanian duo Catalina Ponor and Larisa Iordache and claim Britain's first-ever medal in the discipline at a major championships.
The 19-year-old then put in another impressive display in her floor routine to win a second bronze, coming in behind Iordache and Ponor again after scoring 14.533.
Whelan, who was part of the Great Britain side that finished fourth in Saturday's team event, was delighted at winning her first major medals.
"It feels amazing," said the British champion. "I'm over the moon, it's really unexpected. I wanted to come out and enjoy the competition and I definitely did.

"I enjoy training beam and feel naturally comfortable on it and to get our first-ever medal on that piece is very special.
"I've always dreamed of getting major medals and to come away with two is unbelievable. It gives me a lot of confidence going into the rest of the year."
In a further boost for Britain's gymnasts on Sunday Gabrielle Jupp also won floor bronze in the junior event.
