Over 17,000 athletes and team officials will be able to stay in the village, with some rooms offering views of the main stadium. Each of the 3,300 apartments will have a TV, internet access and wireiess networking. All 11 blocks will be fully accessible and equipped with modern lifts. The village will boast landscaped squares, fountains, hairdressers and a main dining hall big enough for 5,500 people. There will also be an internet cafe, medical facilities and a disco where athletes will be able to mingle. After the Games the village will be become part of the overall Stratford City regeneration scheme and be transformed into 2,800 new homes, including 1,379 affordable homes. Community facilities will include Chobham Academy, an education campus with 1,800 places for young people aged three to 19.
