Gemma Gibbons has revealed she won her Olympic silver medal in Judo whilst competing with a broken thumb. The 25-year-old delivered Britain's first Judo medal for 12 years, when she reached the final of the women's under-78kgs on Thursday. Gibbons had to recover from shoulder surgery to make the London 2012 squad and she is now set for another spell on the sidelines. She wrote on Twitter: "Found out a few hours ago I have broken my thumb so preparing for an operation later this week, still the most amazing week of my life!"
