Kevin Sinfield has tipped his former Leeds team-mate Jamie Peacock to make a success of his comeback at Hull KR.

The two former England captains brought their rugby league careers to an end with victory in last October's Super League Grand Final, which enabled Leeds to complete the domestic treble.

Peacock then took up a role as head of rugby at Hull KR but announced on Tuesday his decision to come out of retirement to help his injury-hit club's battle against relegation.

No decision has yet been made on whether Peacock, now 38, will feature in Rovers' must-win Super 8s Qualifiers match against London Broncos in Ealing on Sunday but Sinfield expects him to play.

"I'm happy for Jamie," said Sinfield, who is a week into his new job as rugby director for the Rugby Football League.

Brian McDermott and Brian Noble explain what made Jamie Peacock stand out as a youngster

"It's a huge commitment for him but he's always been a bloke who has led from the front and it's time to lead from the front again in his opinion in the best way possible.

"Once Jamie gets something in his mind, he never gives up, and I'm sure he will make a success of it.
