The Rugby Football League have announced their three-man shortlist for the coveted Super League Man of Steel award.
Hull FC forwards Gareth Ellis and Danny Houghton have been nominated, alongside Castleford winger Denny Solomona.
Ellis and Houghton have been rewarded for a remarkable season in which Hull have already claimed the Challenge Cup with a 12-10 victory over Warrington Wolves.
Ellis, 35, has also led Hull to an unexpected challenge for the League Leaders' Shield while team-mate Houghton tops the tackle charts for the season with a remarkable 1244.
Solomona has been awarded a place on the shortlist after scoring 37 tries in just his second year in Super League - surpassing former Bradford Bulls winger Lesley Vainikolo's 12-year record for a single season.
The award, which will be announced on October 3, is chosen by a poll of every Super League player.
Meanwhile, Wigan Warriors forward Ryan Sutton, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats winger Tom Johnstone and Widnes Vikings back row Matt Whitley have been nominated for the Young Player of the Year award.
