Warrington forward joins Wildcats on month-long deal

Warrington back-row forward Tyrone McCarthy has joined Wakefield Wildcats on a month-long loan deal. The 22-year-old had been playing for Championship outfit Leigh on a dual registration but has been recalled and loaned to the Wildcats. McCarthy played for Warrington in the 2009 Challenge Cup final but has made only six senior appearances for the Wolves since then. His only Super League appearance so far this season was in the Wolves' 22-6 victory over Wakefield earlier in March, but he is set to make his Wildcats debut at Huddersfield on Sunday. "Tyrone will add great competition for the back-row spots. He has been very well schooled at Warrington and he has big-game experience," Wakefield coach John Kear said. "I'm really looking forward to working with him and seeing him in the red, white and blue. I thank (Warrington coach) Tony Smith for his continued assistance."
