Catalans Dragons have confirmed they are in talks with Penrith Panthers forward Benjamin Garcia.

France international Garcia could soon become the fourth player to announce his intention to cut short his stay in the NRL in order to return to Super League.

Last week Warrington revealed England prop Mike Cooper would be returning from St George Illawarra for 2017.

And already this week Castleford and Wigan have announced the re-signings of full-back Greg Eden and winger Joe Burgess from Brisbane and Sydney Roosters respectively.

Now Garcia is poised to return to the Dragons from Penrith after failing to break into their first team.

A Catalans spokesman said: "I can confirm we are in talks with the player but nothing has been agreed at the moment."

It is thought the Dragons would need to make room on their playing roster to accommodate the 23-year-old centre or second rower, who made 46 Super League appearances before joining the Panthers on a two-year deal at the end of 2015.
