Roger Federer to miss events in Rotterdam and Dubai

World No 3 Roger Federer will be on the sidelines for a month after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery in Switzerland to repair a torn meniscus.
Federer has therefore been forced to pull out of this month's tournaments in Rotterdam and Dubai.
The 34-year-old picked up the injury last week, the day after his Australian Open campaign ended when he was beaten in the semi-finals by eventual winner Novak Djokovic.
The 17-time Grand Slam winner is the reigning champion in Dubai, having won it for the seventh time last year, and is also a two-time former title winner in Rotterdam.
"I am so disappointed to have to miss Rotterdam and Dubai, as they are two of my favourite tournaments on the ATP World Tour," he said.
"While this is an unfortunate setback, I feel grateful that up until now I have remained mostly healthy throughout my career.
"My doctors have assured me that the surgery was a success and, with proper rehabilitation, I will be able to return to the Tour soon."
His next scheduled tournament is in Indian Wells, California, starting on March 7. Federer has won 88 titles during his incredible career, including a record 17 Grand Slams.
He has not added to his Grand Slam tally since 2012 but remains extremely competitive at the top level, reaching the final at Wimbledon and the US Open last year.
