Fed Cup players Jackson and Rolle also given wild-cards

Séverine Bremond, Jamea Jackson and Ahsha Rolle were among seven women awarded US Open wild-cards on Wednesday. Bremond was a Wimbledon quarter-finalist in 2006 but has since slipped to 124th in the world rankings - the Frenchwoman has benefited from a reciprocal agreement between the American and French tennis federations. Jackson and Rolle are both US Fed Cup players while compatriots Gail Brodsky, Asia Muhammad, Melanie Oudin and CoCo Vandeweghe are the others to receive wild-cards for the final grand slam of the season. A yet-to-be-named Australian player will also be granted a wild-card into the women's draw for the August 25-September 7 event at Flushing Meadows.
