Victoria Azarenka recorded a 'double bagel' victory over Vera Dushevina on day one of the WTA Madrid Open on Saturday.
The Belarusian posted a 6-0 6-0 victory over her stunned Russian rival to progress to round two of the 'premier mandatory' event - the highest level on the ladies' tour outside of the Grand Slams.
Second seed Vera Zvonareva had a much tougher time, needing three sets to beat Patty Schnyder.
However, the Wimbledon and US Open runner-up managed to put a second-set wobble to one side to win 6-2 1-6 6-2.
Fifth seed Sam Stosur was also a three-set winner, beating Gisela Dulko 3-6 6-2 6-2.
Kuznetsova out
There was defeat, however, for former French Open champion Svetlana Kuznetsova at the Caja Magica.
The Russian, seeded 12, was beaten 6-3 6-2 by Dominika Cibulkova.
Seeds Agnieszka Radwanska Andrea Petkovic and Petra Kvitova all won, while Jarmila Gajdosova saved two match points before beaing Maria Kirilenko in a final-set tie-break.
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Agnes Szavay also won on day one.
The men's event, which runs alongside its WTA counterpart, gets under way on Sunday.
