Peng finally beats Zvonareva to reach final in Belgian capital

Caroline Wozniacki saw off the challenge of Francesca Schiavone 6-4 4-6 6-3 to book her place in the final of the WTA Brussels Open. The top seed continued her preparations for the upcoming French Open with a hard-fought victory over an opponent who triumphed at Roland Garros last year. Schiavone fought back from a set down in an error-strewn semi-final and then, after losing her serve early on, levelled matters at 3-3 in the decider. However Wozniacki, the current number one in the world, then reeled off the next three games on the spin to come out on top. Next up for the Dane will be Peng Shuai, who defeated second seed Vera Zvonareva of Russia 6-3 6-3 in the other semi-final in the Belgian capital. The Chinese player, who has yet to win a tournament on the WTA Tour, had lost all seven of her previous meetings against Zvonareva.
