German Lisicki sees off Peng in a hurry to reach Sunday's final

Daniela Hantuchova rallied from a set down to reach the final of the AEGON Classic in Birmingham at the expense of Ana Ivanovic. Having lost a tight first set on a tie-break, Slovakian Hantuchova fought back to post a 6-7 (2-7) 6-3 6-2 victory over the second seed. Ivanovic, appearing in her first semi-final this season, will look back on what could have been after passing up no less than 18 break points during the rain-delayed contest. Despite the plethora of missed opportunities, the second-seeded Serbian was still happy with her form on grass with Wimbledon just around the corner. "I don't know how many break points I had, but I still felt positive coming out for the third set," she said. "It was only in the last couple of games that I didn't have the intensity I had previously. My mind was wandering and things happen very fast on grass. "But it was the first time I have played four matches in a row for a long time, and that's something positive I can take." Hantuchova, who will now face Sabine Lisicki in the final, was delighted to come out on top. "I like playing on grass, and I've had a lot of experience on it, and that certainly helps you to do the right things," she said. German Lisicki also caused something of an upset in the other semi-final, comfortably seeing off the challenge of third-seeded Peng Shuai by an emphatic 6-3 6-1 scoreline. Tournament organisers have announced that Sunday's final has been moved to a new start time of 10am to counter the rain that is forecast.
