Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer are refusing to look too far ahead at Wimbledon.
Rivals come through opening round at SW19
Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer are refusing to look at the possibility of another mouth-watering clash between the two.
Djokovic and Federer have been paired together in the same half in the draw at Wimbledon, meaning they could now meet in the semi-finals for the third successive Grand Slam event this year.
Federer won last time out in the last four at the French Open, bringing an end to Djokovic's 41-match winning run and avenging his defeat at the Australian Open at the same time.
However world No.2 Djokovic admits he is just taking things slowly at SW19 this year.
"It's true that there's a different approach to this year's Wimbledon from my side because I'm playing the best time of my life," said Djokovic, who completed a three-set demolition of Jeremy Chardy in the first round.
Nerve-wracking
"I believe in myself much more on court and I know I can perform well, but it's a bit too early to talk about the later stages of the tournament. I'd like to take one match at a time."
Like Djokovic, world No.3 Federer came through his first-round in straight sets as he beat Mikhail Kukushkin and he was just pleased to avoid a repeat of last year's five-set epic against Alejandro Falla.
"The first rounds here at Wimbledon on Centre Court are never easy," he said.
"They're somewhat nerve-wracking because you don't get a chance to practise on the Centre Courts here, so I'm happy I was able to come through in three sets this time around."
