Rochus stands in American's way of victory in Newport

John Isner is one win away from becoming the first top seed for 25 years to win the Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships in Newport. The number-one ranked player has not lifted the trophy since Vijay Amritraj did so at the inaugural event in 1976. But Isner is now two sets away from doing so, having beaten rising star Tobias Kamke 7-5 7-6 (7/4) in the semi-finals on Saturday. Isner sent down 12 aces to take his running tally to 54, and he will now meet Olivier Rochus. The number six seed will make a second successive appearance in the Newport final thanks to a 6-2 6-4 win over qualifier Michael Yani.
