Pole makes up for lost time in Kuala Lumpur
Top seed Agnieszka Radwanska took advantage of the better weather in Kuala Lumpur to reach the quarter-finals of the BMW Malaysian Open.
The world number five began the day still in the first round but wasted little time polishing off a 6-2 6-4 win over Akgul Amanmuradova in a match delayed twice by rain.
She then returned to the court to defeat Czech qualifier Karolina Pliskova 6-4 6-4 and will meet another qualifier, Taipei's Hsieh Su-wei, in the last eight.
It was not a good day for the Pliskova family, with Karolina's 19-year-old twin sister Kristyna falling 2-6 6-1 6-4 to Chinese third seed Shuai Peng.
Defending champion Jelena Dokic's campaign also ended in the second round, the seventh seed losing a tight battle 3-6 6-4 7-6 (7/2) to fellow Australian Olivia Rogowska, while fourth seed Jarmila Gajdosova, also from Australia, was dispatched 6-4 6-0 by Greece's Eleni Daniilidou.
Second seed Jelena Jankovic eased through to the quarter-finals, though, the Serbian beating Jill Craybas 6-2 6-0, and she will meet sixth seed Ayumi Morita, who won an all-Japanese clash against Misaki Doi 7-6 (8/6) 6-2.
