Top seed Isner beaten in semi-final at Delray Beach

South African Kevin Anderson upset top seed John Isner 7-5 7-6 (7/4) to book a spot in the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships final against Australian qualifier Marinko Matosevic. Isner had been in excellent form heading into the semi-final but met his match in the form of the seventh seed, who achieved a notable victory against an American opponent for the second day in a row. Anderson had saved three match points on the way to beating Andy Roddick on Friday. Next up for Anderson is first-time ATP Tour finalist Matosevic. The 26-year-old, ranked 173rd in the world, had not won a tour match this year before coming to Florida but produced a gutsy performance to beat another unseeded player, Israel's Dudi Sela, 5-7 6-4 7-6 (9/7). Matosevic squandered two match points at 5-3 in the third set and was taken to a tie-break by Sela, but held his nerve to progress. He told www.atptour.com: "I'm very happy but I'm also very tired. "I was just fighting off cramps. I was fighting hard and never giving up. It was such a rollercoaster out there. It was just up and down. "I'll just try to recover the best I can." Anderson, ranked 36th in the world and playing in his third tour final, will be the clear favourite tomorrow against an opponent who he has not previously faced.
