Disappointment

Despite not really having been tested so far in the tournament, Roddick insisted it was a disappointment not to have claimed a proper victory. He explained: "You don't want to advance because someone isn't feeling well." After consultation with medical staff at Flushing Meadows, Berdych confirmed he had been in some discomfort throughout the match. "I'm not feeling well," he said after the match. "I have just been in the doctor's. "I'm going to go back there again to have a blood test. "I was feeling really bad throughout the match. I was just trying and hoping that maybe it was going to get better. But it didn't."
